Hi there, we are meant to meet today!
One day on the way back home, I came across an
interesting pebble on the beach. Maybe this might be the moment when I am
pleased that I’ve been living in a city set along the sea front. Although it
doesn’t have a sparkling beach, the waves usually make a more interesting sound
when touching pebbles and abandoned sea shells which once used to be some
creatures’ house.
The pebble had attractive patterns on it. It looked as if it had
drawn by someone and I though it told me “get me!” Having gazed for a while, I
decided to pick it up. I was standing by the middle of the fence, I stretch my
right arm trying to catch it, but it was slightly far away. Jumping over the
fence was not my cup of tea. (I’d like to insist I’m a lady sometimes.)
The only option was obviously to walk along the fence and step
into the pebble beach. When I just got on the beach my eyes were caught by another
stone shaping like a heart. After the pleasant detour for a few minutes for
looking for other pebbles, I went towards the original target. Standing
somewhere in the middle next to the fence I thought to myself ‘The stone should
be here somewhere...’
To my surprise, I was not able to find it. I picked up a little
pebble but it didn’t look like the one. Without a doubt, I was so careless that
I had forgotten to make a sign for myself! I was sitting on the pebble beach
where I once had strongly believed “You are Here” thinking that this reminded
me of the old lesson that I learned a long time ago – just get it when you meet
up what you want. Indeed, it is truly right. It seemed to tell me to focus on
what I want at the moment rather than putting of getting it. Now or Never!
I thought to myself it happened to tell me this again. Well I
might pick it up and it might be less attractive than I had seen it for the
first time. However, whatever the truth was that was not important anymore.
It was the very moment when I found two stones that I really want
to call today’s trophies. Both of them had a stain on each. They were probably
just drawn by nature bay chance. Don’t be surprised! One looked like a duck
with a noticeable beak and the other stain shaped like a shadow of a little
squirrel with a fluffy hairy tale. There was nothing else to do but just pick
them up and bring to my room.
The two extraordinary new friends had been on my desk for a while
sitting on a bunch of paper and keeping them can’t go anywhere. I remember that
Lonely Planet says picking up pebbles on the beach (it was one of pebble
beaches in Croatia) will be a lovely experience. Likewise living in Eastbourne
brings to me a lovely delight.
